Overview
Private albergue located about 7.8km from Saint Jean, on the Napoleon Route to Roncesvalles. 18 beds over 3 rooms (plus another 15 at their sister-albergue, Kayola). Has a restaurant-bar specializing in local cousine. Packed lunches can be arranged.
Reservations are *highly* recommended, especially during the busy season, as the beds are typically booked well in advance (often 3+ months in advance). Pitched tents are also available (which, arguably, are more comfortable and certainly are more private).
Gorgeous location with very scenic views. There’s a great terrace in front that looks out over the mountains. English, French, Spanish, and Basque spoken. Operated by Jean-Jacques Etchandy.
Member of Red de Albergues Camino de Santiago (network of private albergues).
