Small town at the top of the hill coming up (north) from Ölüdeniz and south of Fethiye. In practical terms, Ovacık and the adjacent town of Hisarönü are effectively the same community.

The official starting point of the Lycian Way is located here, just where the road leaves town towards Ölüdeniz. Collectively, Ovacık and Hisarönü have a full range of services including hotels / pensions, restaurants, markets, etc.

Regular dolmuş service is available to nearby communities in the region.

Amenities

If you are camping and need stove fuel, ÇEŞ Market has some available. They’re not very conveniently located but they deliver to hotels. Otherwise you’ll probably want to take a taxi there.

Tips & Recommendations

Ölüdeniz is just downhill a short ways from Ovacık in case you want to explore the beach, partake in the nightlife, or perhaps do some parasailing. There is very frequent dolmuş service if you don’t want to walk. Keep in mind that prices tend to increase in direct correlation with your proximity to the beach so be prepared for a bit of ‘sticker shock’ in Ölüdeniz.
