Hamlet
Aperlai
ID:
123

Hamlet (though perhaps it is a stretch to even call it that…) located between Boğazcık and Üçağız, adjacent to the ruins of the same name.

Nitty-Gritty

Transport

Scenic boat transfers to Üçağız or Kaleköy can be arranged via The Purple House or other guesthouses.

Highlights

The Aperlai ruins are scattered over the hillside as well as in the inlet to the west of the Purple House.

Snorkelling among the sunken ruins is a popular diversion for those passing through. The water isn’t as clear here as at the Kekova ruins, but you can’t snorkel there. It’s a unique and fun change of pace from walking and a good way to cool off before continuing your walk. If for some odd reason you didn’t bring your snorkelling gear with you on your walk of the Lycian Way (doesn’t everyone?), we’re told you can borrow some from the Purple House.

Accommodations

There are several guest houses available (one in the main ruins area and the others by the docks) and some camping options.

Amenities

Yörük Ramazan Restaurant is available by the docks. Food and beverages can also be obtained from the guesthouses.
