Village
Kaleköy (Simena)
ID:
126

Picturesque village beneath the Simena Castle, located between Üçağız and Kapaklı.

Nitty-Gritty

Highlights

Very scenic place! Highlights of town include the castle, the sunken Lycian town nearby (“Batık Şehri”, or Sunken City in English), and the excellent fish restaurants.

Consider arranging a boat tour of the coastline, including of the sunken ruins. Boats can be arranged in Kaleköy itself or in nearby Üçağız. Longer tours (and well worth considering) can also be done from Kaş.

Accommodations

Several guesthouses are available though all are expensive by Turkish standards.

We’ve heard lots of good reports regarding Sahil Pansyon.

Amenities

There are multiple good restaurants as well as a market (very basic).

Notes

Kaleköy is unusual in that there is no road access to the town. It can only be reached via foot or boat.

Note that the scenic location comes at a price – rates tend to be quite high here, especially in peak season.
