Village
Üçağız
ID:

Attractive village located between Aperlai and Kaleköy (Simena), built on the site of the one-time Lycian settlement of Talmussa.

This is both a simple fishing village and a popular tourist stop (especially for yachters).

Nitty-Gritty

Transport

Dolmuş service is sometimes available to / from the village, but is very limited. Arranging a taxi or private car to / from Demre might be an option (ask at your guesthouse). Transfers via boat is also a (quite nice!) option.

Highlights

The Talmussa ruins are on the hillside on the east side of the village. They tend to be over-grown and are often a nuisance to explore.

Accommodations

There is a good selection of guesthouses, some also having an associated restaurant.

If you are camping, there is a free place to pitch a tent on the east edge of the village.

Amenities

Several restaurants are available, all typically quite good.  Fresh water and a mini-market are available (if you’re camping, grab some fresh fish to cook over a camp fire).

Public toilets / showers (for nominal fee) available directly on the Lycian Way’s route.

Tips & Recommendations

If you decide to over-night here, consider renting a kayak and exploring some of the coastline.
