Essentials

Çukurbağ (village)
Kaş (town)
NNE–SSW section with Kaş to the SSW.
Flat for the NNE two-thirds then, for those heading towards Kaş it, um, ‘falls off a cliff’… the SSW third has a very steep slope, descending towards Kaş, with about 1 km at 25%+ grade and the portion within Kaş itself at about 10%.
Follows a mix of decent-quality footpaths, rural roads, and urban streets.
Way-finding is generally good.

Handy Things to Know

The following notes are gathered from our own experiences and from feedback sent to us by other hikers. Let us know how we can improve these notes – and thanks!

Highlights

  • Outstanding views looking down over Kaş!
  • Kaş is a great town with interesting sites, good restaurants, and a nice ambiance.

Tips

  • Take your time on the slopes above Kaş and pay extra attention to your footing. Use your walking poles for added balance. If you are not an experienced hiker, don’t let the steepness of the slope intimidate you – just go at your own pace. (If you are an experienced hiker, feel free to be as intimidated by the steepness as you wish!)
  • Kaş is a good place for an off-day if you want to let your body recuperate a bit.

How You Can Help

Trail research is never actually done. Here’s some of what we’re looking for:
✅   More photos! Ideally with geo-location information in the metadata. In addition to using some photos on Trekopedia, we add them to our internal reference database which significantly helps us with trail research. The more photos, the better! If you are willing to share your collection with us, we’d be incredibly grateful. Let us know and we’ll arrange a transfer.

✅   Points of interest. Help us identify (and geo-locate) accommodations, attractions, restaurants, markets, trail waypoints, confusing or problematic junctions, difficult or hazardous places, water sources, and so on.

✅   Tips & recommendations. Share your thoughts with other hikers.
In addition to the above, please see this article for information on more general ways you can help. Thanks!
