Enjoyable section between the village of Boğazcık and the ancient ruins at Aperlai, with an optional short detour to the Apollonia ruins.

NNW–SSE section with Aperlai to the SSE.

The NNW half of this section is generally flat. The SSE half, though, involves a long, steady slope descending towards the sea (Aperlai) at about 10.5%.

Follows a mix of roads, tracks, and narrow footpaths. The footpath portions are through rugged terrain though the footpath itself is generally decent quality.

Way-markings are fairly good along this section.

Handy Things to Know

Water

You can usually top-up your water at Aperlai. However, bring sufficient water to cover the full walk between Boğazcık and Üçağız in case you can’t get a top-up.
There are several cisterns along this section. However, if they have water available it will likely be quite dirty.

Highlights

The Aperlai ruins are at the SSE end of this section in a scenic setting. Some are off-shore and can be explored while swimming / snorkeling (we’ve been told that snorkeling gear can be borrowed from the Purple House).
Slightly off-route at the top of a hill near the NNW end of the section are the Apollonia Ruins.

Camping

Several decent-to-good wild camping locations are available.
